Safety on Zero Social
Zero Social is for adults 18 and over. Every profile is reviewed by a person, unverified accounts are clearly labeled, you can read reviews before you connect, messages from people you haven’t matched with go to your message requests, and you can report or block anyone. This page explains how each part works and what it does not cover.
Who can use Zero Social?
Only adults aged 18 or older. You set your date of birth and gender when you sign up, and both are locked after that; changes go through hello@zerosocial.app.
Read our child safety policy.
How are profiles checked?
Every profile is reviewed by a person on the Zero Social team. Photo verification uses a live selfie. You can try Zero before you verify, but accounts that haven't verified are clearly labeled, and verified profiles show a badge.
Neither check is an ID or background check, so keep your own judgement when you meet someone.
Can I check someone before I connect?
Yes. Read their reviews before you connect, and check whether their account is verified.
Who can message me?
People you've matched with chat with you one to one. Someone you haven't matched with can still send you a message, but it arrives in your message requests, separate from your chats, and you decide whether to reply.
Nobody can post public comments on your profile, and you can leave a conversation at any time.
How do I report or block someone?
Report or block a profile or a conversation from inside the app. Reports go to the Zero Social team, who can disable a profile. Accounts the team confirms as scams are restricted.
What privacy controls do I have?
Privacy settings control what each goal profile shows, including hiding it, and Passport mode lets you choose the city you appear from. Your profile is not posted to a public web feed and is not indexed by search engines.
In Profile, Content & Safety lets you hide sensitive content, adult content, offensive language and harassment. All four are on by default.
What doesn’t Zero Social check?
Zero Social does not verify pets, listings, organisations or NGOs, and cannot screen anyone’s intentions. When you meet someone for the first time, meet in a public place and tell a friend where you’ll be.
How do I delete my account?
Delete your account from Profile in the app, or read how account deletion works. Deletion has a 7-day window: log back in within 7 days and the account is restored.
