How adoption matchmaking works

  1. 1

Join the pets and animals community

Start in the pets and animals community to browse, adopt, foster, or list a pet anywhere in India.

  2. 2

Create a profile for what you need

Say if you want a permanent home, foster, emergency care, or if you are listing a pet for adoption.

  3. 3

Browse people and animals that fit

Use the India page to reach the right city, then narrow by animal, age, and placement type.

  4. 4

    Message and screen directly

The match opens a chat. Screening, home checks, and adoption decisions stay with the shelter, NGO, foster, or person listing the animal.

Why Zero Social works for pet adoption in India

One national page, local decisions

The India page helps people find the right city fast, while screening, home checks, and final decisions stay with the partner who knows the animal best.

Built for rescue-first matching

This is not a classifieds board. It is a matchmaking flow for permanent homes, fostering, emergency care, and special cases that need the right home, not just a random lead.

Works for shelters, NGOs, and individuals

Whether you are a shelter, a rescue group, a foster, or someone responsibly rehoming a pet, the same profile flow works for you.

Browse by city

Start national, then narrow by city

Use the India hub to get to the right city pages and the most relevant rescue or shelter sources.

Live Indian adoption and rescue pages

These are the kinds of rescue and shelter pages we checked while planning the India launch. They are not Zero Social, and we do not copy their animals onto this page.

Beyond pet adoption

We connect people across India who are interested in pets and animals — not only people listing or adopting. Pet parents, first-time owners, feeders, rescuers, and anyone who wants animals in their life.

Group activity, local help, and rescue context sit next to adoption. That makes the page useful to both searchers and people who actually need to take action.

You can use the same community for lost-and-found, foster asks, vet and boarding recs, or finding the next animal that needs a home.

We connect people. Screening stays with the partner.

Zero Social is a platform that helps adopters, pet parents, rescuers, foster parents, shelters and organizations discover and connect with one another. We do not own, shelter, transport, medically treat, or make adoption decisions for pets. Screening stays with the shelter, NGO, foster, or person listing the animal. Do not send money or UPI before you meet. Pets are not sold here.

FAQs

Is this page for all of India?

Yes.

Who can list a pet here?

Individuals, foster parents, shelters, NGOs, rescue groups, vet clinics, and street feeders can all list. There is no NGO-only gate.

Can I adopt a dog or cat from another city?

Yes. Many matches happen across city lines. The page helps you reach the right partner, then the actual screening and handoff stay between the people involved.

Do you verify pets or people?

No. Zero Social does not verify, approve, or guarantee any listing, health claim, or person. Use judgement, ask questions, and keep screening with the partner.

Can I foster instead of adopting?

Yes. Foster is a placement type here, along with permanent home, emergency care, bonded pair, and special-needs care.

Is Zero Social a shelter or rescue organization?

No. Zero Social is a matchmaking platform. The shelter, NGO, foster, or individual keeps control of the screening and adoption decision.

Is Zero Social free to use?

Yes, Zero Social is free to download and use on both the App Store and Google Play. Some in-app matchmaking actions can be Premium.

Is this only for dogs and cats?

No. We try to rehome all types of pets.

Can I give my own pet up for adoption here?

Yes. If you are responsibly rehoming a pet, you can create a profile and use the same flow as shelters and NGOs.
